Happy Birthday America

July, as an adult, is as bittersweet as it is reminiscent; a time of year that arrives long before you are prepared and ends before you have the opportunity to truly savor the nostalgic aroma of burning sparklers and toasted marshmallow.  Blink, and you’ll miss it—blink, and you’ll be battling a serious case of yuletide cheer.

The Modern Bride Guide By Modern Girl Invitations

Though sometimes it seems short lived, this month has so much to offer.
So much to celebrate.
And even though we are a few days past due, we would love to take the opportunity to voice our appreciation. We’re thankful for our freedoms; for the potential we process, because of those freedoms. We’re thankful for the courage of the generations before us, who fought for our futures without ever seeing our faces. We’re thankful for the wisdom of our elders and our youth; our country was founded on a healthy balance of both perspectives. We’re thankful for unity. We’re thankful for the sacrifice so many have made, are making, and will make for the protection of our country, our homes, and our families.
We’re thankful for the unwritten responsibility we have, as Americans, to establish a sense of patriotism. And for the opportunity we have to express that patriotism, not only during an annual firework display, but during every given minute of every given day.

We’re thankful for this land, in which we live, and for those who defend it.
Happy Independence Month :) Tis the season.
